  In terms of anti-skid railings, the key railing structures used are mainly fiberglass railings. Generally speaking, there are three main ways of application.

  High-speed fiberglass railings are divided into general road anti-skid railings and highway bridge railings according to the road; according to the location, they can be divided into roadside railings and median railings; according to their bearing capacity and mechanical properties, they can be divided into rigid railings, semi-rigid railings, and flexible railings.

  1. Rigid railings:

  Rigid railings are a type of railing structure that hardly deforms. Concrete railings are an important type of rigid railing. It is a wall-embedded structure composed of concrete blocks of a certain shape connected to each other. It uses the inability to control the car from climbing, deforming, rubbing, and turning after hitting the wall to absorb impact energy.

  Rigid railings do not wrinkle during impact and are basically not damaged, with relatively low maintenance costs, but they are uncomfortable for vehicles to drive on. At the same time, because of their high bending stiffness, their ability to absorb energy is poor, which inevitably causes significant harm to personnel and vehicles.

  2. Semi-rigid railings:

  Semi-rigid railings are a continuous beam-type railing structure with a certain degree of stiffness and flexibility. Corrugated steel beam railings are an important type of semi-rigid railing. It is a continuous structure composed of corrugated steel railing plates pieced together and supported by uprights. It uses the filling, uprights, and deformation of the corrugated beam to absorb impact energy and forces out-of-control vehicles to change direction.

  Beam-type railings can be divided into various types such as W-shaped corrugated beam railings, pipe beam railings, and prefabricated box beam railings according to different structures. They all have a certain bending stiffness and ductility. They absorb impact energy through the deformation of the load-bearing beam. Damaged components are easy to replace and have a certain visual guidance effect with a beautiful appearance.

  3. Flexible railings:

  Flexible railings are a type of flexible railing structure with relatively high buffer capacity. Cable railings are an important type of flexible railing. It is a structure in which cables are fixed to the posts to increase the initial infection ability. It mainly relies on the tensile stress of the cables to resist the impact of vehicles and absorb impact energy.

  The cables work within the elastic range and basically do not need to be replaced. This type of railing has a beautiful appearance and does not cause discomfort when vehicles are driving, but the visual guidance effect is poor.

  To increase the service life of fiberglass railings, the following aspects should also be considered:

  1. Regular dusting is required

  Dust flies outdoors, accumulating over time, and a layer of dust settles on the hot-dip galvanized road railings. It will affect the color of the wrought iron fittings, thereby damaging the protective film of the wrought iron fittings. Therefore, outdoor wrought iron fittings should be frequently wiped, and it is generally advisable to wipe them with soft cotton cloth.

  2. Waterproofing is needed

  Road railings are only generally exposed to outdoor humidity; you can rest assured of the rust prevention of the road railings. In the event of severe convective weather, use a dry cotton cloth to wipe off the water droplets from the road railing equipment; during rainy days, the water mist should be wiped off immediately after the weather clears. Due to the prevalence of haze in many parts of China in recent years, the precipitation attached to the road railings should be wiped off immediately after rain.
